First I would make sure your clothes are being spun properly to dispense the water from them in the final cycle of your washing machine. If you put too many items in the machine then they won't spin dry in this cycle very well making your dryer work harder and causing damp spots in some areas of clothing. I would make sure to not over-fill the dryer with too many clothes especially with heavy cloth items like jeans, towels, throw blankets at one time. I would only fill it 1/3 to 1/2 full so there is plenty of room for the clothes to move and flip around so the heat can surround the clothes better. I set mine on the Optimum setting (under the Cottons setting) and it does dry all mine very well. If you have heavier cloth items, you might set it for More Dry.

The vent should be rigid metal or flexible metal only. GE does not recommend plastic flexible duct. Plastic vent collapses easier and collects water. If the dryer cannot rid itself of the excess heat and humidity it will build up inside the dryer drum. This type of build up may cause the dryer to be hot to the touch, sweat, and may increase the drying times. Check the Installation Instructions to be sure of the proper number of elbows and the correct length of venting allowed. If these restrictions are not followed, it could cause water to condense, or sweating, around the door opening and on the door. Disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load or two (Electric Dryers only). If the symptoms go away it is likely you had a venting problem. If the symptoms continue there may be a service issue with the dryer. If the dryer is hot or sweats, we suggest to view the following link for tips: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18709 - THINGS TO CHECK FOR A DRYER VENTING ISSUE: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21557 - If properly installed, a qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis.
