  • QuestionMy dyer cuts on an the buttons light up but when I push start it clicks an nothing happens would that be my motor or door switch

    • Answer Hello Taheerah, Thank you so much for reaching out. We're so sorry to hear that your dryer will not start. We understand how frustrating that must be. If your dryer will not run or start, check the following: 1.Make sure the dryer plug is pushed completely into the wall outlet. 2.Check that the dryer door is closed tightly. 3.Make sure that the cycle selection button is positioned on the desired temperature, fabric, and drying time. 4.Ensure that the START button has been depressed completely. 5.Open the dryer door and inspect the condition of the door switch. If the door switch is scorched or pushed in, this may cause the dryer not to operate. 6.Check to be sure that house circuit breakers / fuses are operational. The dryer should be on a separate circuit. 7.On some models (2019 & newer), the dryer may need its "personality" settings selected. When this happens, the dryer may not turn on or tumble and a "1" or "2" appears in the display. Pressing the START button toggles between valid personalities (1 or 2). To set the display to the correct personality: Select "1" for Electric dryers Select "2" for Gas dryers 8.Electric models only: Inspect the power cord at back of the dryer for a broken, burned, or loose connection. Reconnect if necessary. Check the terminal block. If wires and/or terminal connections are burned, broken, or frayed, replacement of both will be necessary.   • QuestionIf the dryer is vented out the side, can I push the back of the dryer up against the wall? If not, how much space is needed behind the dryer? Thank you.

If the exhaust is vented out the side, we still recommend one inch of clearance from the rear wall. Also, keep in mind any clearance needed if your outlet is located directly behind the unit.   • QuestionHow high from the floor is the bottom of the dryer door? Also, is there a matching plinth to raise the dryer up 12-12 inches for easier access?

    • Answer Bottom of the dryer door is 14" off the ground. However, the bottom of the dryer drum inside is even lower by a few inches. Me being tall and some lower back pain makes it a little difficult getting clothes out sometimes. A plinth is a good idea but I don't know if there is one

  • QuestionMy dryer isn't getting as hot as it used can I check to see what personality it has on and how do I change it

    • Answer Hello- We are sorry to hear you are having an issue with your dryer not heating well. We recommend making sure your venting isn't clogged. To check if your venting is clogged, start a timed dry on high heat. Go to the exhaust vent outside and use your hand to verify that the air is very warm and exiting at a decent flow. If there’s little airflow, your venting probably needs to be cleaned or replaced. If the temperature’s too low, there may be an operational issue with the dryer, which should be checked by an authorized service technician.   • QuestionHow is total height with top load door open ?

    • Answer Hello there - Since this model is not a top-load washer, the height will remain unchanged at 46 inches high when the door is opened. The depth, however, will increase 22.5 inches when the door is opened all the way out (for a total depth of 56 inches). We hope this is insightful.   • QuestionMy dryer shuts off with the clothes still damp?

    • Answer Hi! Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear that your clothing isn't being fully dried, we can understand how that would be frustrating for sure. If you've got a mix of heavy and light clothing in your dryer, you'd want to select the MORE DRY option. You may also want to check your venting system to make sure it's clean. If your clothing is taking a long time to dry, an article titled "DRYER - TAKING TOO LONG TO DRY CLOTHES" provides some help with that!   • QuestionWhat setting do I use so that the dryer shuts off when it senses that the clothes are dry? All the choices have designated times, and I don't want it to shut off too soon (clothes are still wet) or after too much time and the clothes are hot to the touch

    • Answer Hello DLG6, Thank you for reaching out. We're happy to help. This dryer has what's known as a Sensor Dry feature. This feature uses dual thermistor technology to continually monitors temperature and moisture to prevent over drying. This feature is used with the different drying cycles. You can also adjust the time, temperature, and dryness level with other settings. Please check the owner's manual for more instructions.   • QuestionWhy did my dryer stop working no lights will come on

    • Answer Hi Butch - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Dryer Model GTD72EBSNWS! We are sorry to hear it stopped working and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Press Power to activate the control panel (it may be asleep). If there is no power to the electric dryer, check circuit breaker or fuse box. Your dryer requires a 30 amp dual breaker or two 30 amp fuses. If you have circuit breakers, turn the dryer breaker all the way off and back on again. Sometimes a breaker can appear to be on, but is actually partially tripped. Be certain the plug is pushed completely into the outlet.
