“How many inches of the air conditioner extend out the window and how many inches are inside the room? I have a tight window space due to a staircase and no more than 19 inches of the ac unit can extend out the window. Please answer asap. Thanks.”

Well it extends into the house about 3.5 inches and the it extends outside about 13 inches . This does not include the inches that sits inside the window. Hope this helps

This is the point where the side curtains attach to the AC. b) My AC unit is installed so I can't measure how deep it is. However, the product review list the dimensions as (W x H x D): 23-5/8 in. x 15 in. x 22-1/67 in. c) 22 1/67 = 22.015. d) 22.015 - 16 inches = 6.015. e) Most window sills are about 3.25 inches thick in front of the window frame. f) 6.015 - 3.25 = 2.8 inches. g) 2.8 inches will most likely protrude into your room. h) It would appear that you will have approximately 3 inches clearance with the staircase.
