Q: QuestionIs this item a toggle-style switch or a paddle-style switch? Half of the pictures show a paddle switch and the others show a toggle switch. The title and most of the text references a toggle switch.

• A:Answer Hi TinMan, you can get decorum plates that will fit what you are looking for. I would recommend looking around online, as we don't sell decorum plates. Our switches will fit most standard wall plates, and you shouldn't have any issues. Thank you for the question.

Q: QuestionAre the neutral wire and the ground wire the same thing?

• A:Answer Hi Rockey, thank you for reaching out about the difference between the neutral and ground wires for the smart switch. They are quite different and have separate functions. The neutral wire in residential wiring is a live wire, or electrically charged where as the ground wire is a non-current carrying conductor. Q: QuestionWill this switch work if I have a ceiling fan? I do not need to control the ceiling fan. I want to be able to control the lights using a app. Each ceiling fan has three light bulbs.

If the fan and light have their own switch, just replace the switch that controls the lights and you should be set. Q: QuestionI bought one of these for a 3 way switch and it looks like I have to purchase another one for the other switch? Is there a way to getting around having to buy 2 smart switches like capping one off?

• A:Answer Hi Juan, for 3-ways it's required to get a second CbyGE switch otherwise it won't be compatible. Now for capping one of the switches off, thereby making the switch a single pole, that would be a better question for a trained electrician, so as not to put yourself at risk.

Q: QuestionI am looking at purchasing this C by GE paddle switch and noticed in the product image a green power symbol in the bottom third of the paddle. Does the power symbol illuminate green when the switch is on? Or does it stay illuminated at all times? Thanks!

• A:Answer Hello SmartHomeNovis, The C-Start Paddle Switch does have a very faint status light on the bottom of the paddle button. It flashes blue indicating it is ready for setup but once it is configured in the C by GE app it turns white but is not even visible. Q: QuestionI have an older electric blinds system that works on a toggle switch. The stem stays center and you hold up to open, or hold down to close. When you let go it stops. Would this switch work in this application?

• A:Answer C by GE Smart switches are programmed to communicate with each other. If you have a set up where your fixture or light is being controlled by two or more locations, all switches included in the set up must be C by GE Smart switches.
