Q: QuestionDoes this have a broil feature?

• A:Answer Hello Jack - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This unit does not specifically have a boil setting; however, the closest setting would be the Convection Baking or the Convection Roasting because these settings use the circulating heated air to brown and seal in the flavor. • A:Answer Ours is setup to vent out the front. There is also the option to vent externally. There has been no heat buildup impacting our cabinet. We love this unit!

Q: QuestionDoes this convection/microwave have a fuse that would shut it off in case of a power surge?

• A:Answer Hi-this is Sue from GE Appliances. All GE microwaves have a varistor that protects the control system from powerline surges. There is no need to add an additional surge protector to the line unless you just prefer to do so, or unless the you live in an area where heavy thunderstorms and lightning are common. This sensor feature detects the increasing humidity released during cooking. The oven automatically adjusts the cooking time to various types and amounts of food. Press the Auto Cook button, turn the dial to the desired food type (potato 1-4), press to enter. • A:Answer Unfortunately, it is a bit loud. I had a Whirlpool Gold model before, with 3 speed fan, and it was quieter than this 2 speed fan.

Baking or roasting uses a heating element to raise the temperature of the air inside the oven. Any oven temperature from 225°F to 425°F may be set. A fan gently circulates this heated air throughout the oven, over and around the food, producing golden brown exteriors and rich, moist interiors. Thanks for checking with us!

Q: Questionoutside venting only as the speck sheet states ?The spec sheets state outside venting, the sales man says it is convertible, can I safely buy this unit for inside venting? I really like the unit, but do not want to have it delivered, and find out it cannot be internally vented.

The over-the-range microwave ovens are designed for adaptation to the following three types of ventilation: *Outside exhaust (horizontal), *Outside exhaust (vertical),*Recirculating (non-vented). Q: Questionafter 15 years my Spacemaker died, will my new profile,(slight difference in height) fit on the same bracket?

We're sorry to hear that your Spacemaker over-the-range microwave died, but we are glad to know that you received 15 years of service from your microwave. The good news is that the new microwaves are designed to work in the same cabinet space, even though the dimensions may be slightly different. You will, however, need to use the new mounting bracket and hardware as they have changed over the years and are not interchangeable. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Q: QuestionCan the racks be removed?Many models state that the racks can be removed. It seems to me you would have to remove them to use the microwave as the racks are chrome. Is that the case with this oven? Thank you!

For two-level baking or fast baking, we recommend using both shelves. Please follow the Owner's Manual instructions as to when you can and should use the shelves. I hope this helps! • A:Answer I microwave a small bowl of water for a minute or two to get the humidity up and then use a dish cloth to wipe off the messes. I use a stainless steel cleaner such as BarKeepers Friend or Cameo Stainless steel cleaner to get the surface looking like new again. Lemon juice and baking soda is also good. I have had mine 10 years and cook absolutely everything in it and it still looks new inside except for the circular beige piece on the ceiling. I just wipe that the best I can.

Q: QuestionBakeware for fast bake?The written instructions say glass, ceramic or oven safe plastic for fast bake but the photo in cookbook supplied looks like they are baking in metal pans. What's up? Our home advantium oven allows metal for combo cooking with microwave and convection.

Because FastBake combines microwave and convection energy, metal cookware should not be used with the FastBake function. Q: QuestionCan this be hard wired to where a vent hood was powered?Or do you need a plug in setup? Does the bracket come with it? Some say yes and some say no. Does the knob set the cook time to be seen on the display?

• A:Answer We installed an outlet where the vent hood was wired. I think the 220 model does need to be hard wired. I had one of those in another house and it cooked a little faster than this one. Not enough to matter.
