QuestionI have had this microwave for 3 years and it just went completely out. I checked the breaker and that didn’t pop. Is there a fuse in the microwave or some sort of reset

- Answer The exact same thing happened to my 3 year old model. Is this the life expectancy for this GE Profile model? Handyman relative thought he could replace fuse based on a YouTube video, but it turned out not to be the same model. Fuses in this model are unreachable. I really like the look of this microwave and am considering replacing it with the same model, but this time I will buy extended warranty. Last year I replaced a four year old refrigerator and a four year old washer dryer combo. I guess they just aren't making appliances with a long life span anymore.

- Answer It comes with a charcoal filter if you do not have outside access. Otherwise, standard venting. Venting requires you move direction of blowers (fairly simple) to set up either option

- Answer I had the same issue and apparently Frigidaire is the only manufacturer that makes zero clearance doors on microwaves.

- Answer Hi Nana- All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. Approximate Product Dimensions- JVM290WV001: 30"W x 15 1/2H x 14 1/4"D. Approximate Product Dimensions- PVM9005SJSS: 29 15/16"W x 17 5/16"H x 16 5/32"D. - Answer Do not buy this. I hated everything about it, but the worst part is that there is a known defect where it will break after a year. Go read the forums and you'll learn about it. When I called GE they refused to help me. Stay far away from this

QuestionI am replacing an older model GE Profile microwave that is 30 inches wide but also has what appears to be a 6 inch spacer module attached to fill in the 36 inch wide opening. Can I acquire a 6 inch spacer/trim module for this GE model as well?

- Answer Hi TRP58 - If you are replacing a 36" over-the-range microwave, many current 30" over-the-range microwaves offer an optional 36" filler kit to allow it to be installed in a 36" cut-out opening. If available, the filler kit will be listed in the product specifications. A 36" Filler Trim Kit is not available for model PVM9005SJSS. GE Profile™ Series 2.1 Cu. Ft. QuestionDoes "cut-out-length" refer to the minimum depth of the surrounding cabinets? AND why is the cut-out-length for this microwave 17 5/16 inches when the other GE over-the range microwaves of the same size have a cut-out-legnth of 13 inches?

- Answer Hey there, Thanks for your question. The cut out dimensions are designed so the the microwave will be able to fit properly in its surroundings. The length is the same as the depth. The cut out depth for this model is between 11 1/2" - 14 5/8". If you have any other questions, let us know anytime. Mike@GEA

QuestionDoes heat from the stove cook top cause problems with the micro wave control panel?

- Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out with this great question! We certainly understand your concern over the control panel, and we’re glad to advise. This model is designed to be used over a range, so as long as it’s installed correctly with the right clearance between the cook top and the microwave, we do not anticipate any issues. When installed, the top of the microwave should be 30” above the cook top, and the mounting height should be at least 66” from the floor. If you’d like to review the information on installing, we do have our Installation Instructions as well as Quick Specs linked on the product page on our GE Appliances website; you can view that when you look up the model number. Please note that over-the-range microwaves shouldn’t be installed over any range or cooktop with a combined BTU greater than 60,000. QuestionWhat color is the display? My GE oven has a bright white display. Some GE microwave hoods seem to have green displays. Consumer photos are different from ads. I know this is a small thing to some people but would drive me nuts if a different color.
