• Hi Jackson- We have great news! The microwave can be vented internally (recirculating). The over-the-range microwave ovens are designed for adaptation to the following three types of ventilation: *Outside exhaust (horizontal). *Outside exhaust (vertical). *Recirculating (non-vented). If the model is converted to recirculating and not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through a disposable charcoal filter (included) that helps remove smoke and odors. Upfront charcoal filter with indicator light indicates when the odor-removing charcoal filter needs to be replaced. Thanks for choosing our GE Profile™ Series. Enjoy! SUEatGEA
