Please note that for a microwave/oven combination unit, the entire unit would need to be replaced rather than the microwave by itself. After reviewing our system, we see the expected cabinet cutout dimensions for your current model (which we see as JKP65W0P2WG) listed as 23 ½” minimum depth, 41 1/8” minimum to 41 ¼” maximum height and 25” minimum to 25 ¼” maximum width. The expected cabinet width is 27”. (We do advise double checking the measurements of your cutout, to be sure they will fit the requirements of a new model.) Our current wall oven microwave combination units that are 27” in width are JK3800SHSS and PK7800SKSS, and the necessary cutout dimensions for those appear to be a good match for the current cutout. The only potential issues we notice is that the new unit would require 23” clearance from adjacent corners, drawers, walls, etc. when the door is open, while the older model needed 20” minimum. Also, the junction box needs to be in a different location than the older model required. If it would help, you can view the ‘Quick Specs’ for either model when you go to our GE Appliances website, look up the model number and go to the product page; a link to the specs document is available on that page. A:AnswerMy actual microwave, same model, it’s just a little tiny bit less than 24 inches wide and it’s about 12 1/2 inches tall but if your cabinets only 24 inches you might have to shave the wood if it’s a wood cabinet I didn’t get the trim kit because it was $200 and my cabinet is finished on the inside so it looks fine. My cabinet is also 17 &1/2 inches high

But if you’re able to arrange for a minor modification to the width of the cutout, the model you asked this question on (PEB7227DLBB) may indeed be a good fit for you. It is compatible with trim kits JX7227DLBB and JX7230DLBB. The trim kits differ in their external dimensions (JX7227DLBB is 26 ¾” W and JX7230DLBB is 29 ¾” W) but inside the cutout space both would need dimensions of 16 ¾” H, 25 ½” W and a minimum depth of 19 ½” or 22”. Though your cutout height is larger than what is needed, the height dimensions of the trim piece would cover the opening if installed correctly. We hope this information helps! Our standards for sizing and dimensions have changed compared to the ones highlighted for your microwave, which creates discrepancies with certain measurements (ex. the depth of the cabinet opening). -- With that said, we were able to find microwave model #PEB9159DJBB, which is a countertop microwave that can be turned into a built-in unit. The two trim kit options are the following: *JX9153DJ (30") *JX9152DJ (27"). -- The dimensions for the cabinet opening are still slightly different and we strongly suggest reaching out to a local cabinet maker to adjust your opening. A:AnswerWe ordered this GE Microwave and the trim kit in April. Received the microwave in early June. Best Buy said the trim kit was back ordered until late June. Went by the Hot Springs store the date the trim kit was due and they told us it was no longer available and they cancelled our order. I called Best Buy customer service, spoke to someone and they said the trim kit will be in the store July 19th. We’ll see! Wish I had your trim kit!
