For total clarity here... the refrigerator does not display actual temps to the user but a technician can actually put it into diagnostic mode and view actual temps. The problem is, you can’t trust this refrigerator to stay close to the temps so it’s just a mystery all the time. We have important things in our freezer that can’t thaw but without any warning or way to check the temperature it’s all thawed apparently because of a defrost issue. It seems as though they’ve gated this feature even though the hardware can support it and this makes impossible to know something is wrong until it’s too late.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't matter. It wont' work for long anyway. Purchased 1 in May 2020. The freezer failed in September 2020. It was replaced and that freezer has now failed. And no, you can't count on the Geek Squad to repair it. You will spend hours on the phone trying to reach them. And then it will take a month for them to come out to look at the unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Beav, thank you for reaching out to us and for your patience. We truly appreciate you choosing this fantastic French-door refrigerator for your home and are so glad to have you in the GE Appliances family! We apologize for the confusion you have experienced with the temperature controls and are happy to offer you some clarification. - Your refrigerator is designed with an Electronic Digital Temperature Display that offers you precise control over the temperature of the fresh food and freezer sections. While some models have the capability of showing a Set Temperature as well as an Actual Temperature, your model only displays the Set Temperature. The display will show the Set Temperature and the refrigerator temperature will be within a few degrees of that setting. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may cause and hope that this helps to clarify. Please feel free to reach back out to us at any time if you have any additional questions about your refrigerator. All the best! -Eliza@GEA
