We have reviewed the specifications for your existing downdraft cooktop and for the new PP9830DRBB model. We can confirm the cutout dimensions needed for both units are the same. There is a fractional difference in the overall width dimensions of the two units. We do not anticipate this being an issue. That said, we do encourage you to doublecheck and measure the opening you have available in your counter top and compare those to what is needed for the new model. To view the document listing all pertinent dimensions, click on the "Features" tab and scroll to the bottom of the list to find the "Specifications Sheet". Also, we recommend removing the old cooktop and downdraft system entirely and replace it with the new system that comes with the new cooktop.

Except that the cooktop glass of new PP9830 is not interchangeable with the old JP989 because there is one new feature in the PP9830 - a sixth knob to turn the security lock on and off - not a feature on the old JP989. The burners, control rheostats, downdraft fan are all interchangeable. My wife dropped a glass pie dish onto her cook top and broke just the glass top - which as a part is no longer available, so she got a whole new cooktop, but I saved the old one for replacement parts. Just installed the new PP9830 right on top of the existing down draft fan and duct.
