Q: QuestionI understand that some induction brands draw power even when the unit is not in use. Does this GE unit (or any of the GE induction cooktops) draw power when the unit is not in use. If so, what is the power consumption rate (e.g., kilowatt-hours).

• A:Answer Hello - While in standby mode, the cooktop uses 1 watt of standby power or 0.004 amps. The KW rating at 208V is 9.6 and the KW rating at 240V is 11.1. Q: QuestionWhat size cutout is required for this cooktop? I am replacing a 36" Jennair gas stove in a granite counter. Also, I have a 50 amp circuit with conventional outlet. Are there any electrical modifications needed for this cooktop?

• A:Answer 19 1/4 BY 35 1/2 will work. Look for another unit though the boards are known to fail a little after one year. $1100 to replace. Happen to me

GE Appliances does not require a ventilation system with our cooktops, including this induction model PHP9036SJSS. Q: QuestionI want to replace a Viking range that has a downdraft at the top of it, on my kitchen island. The cutout accommodates the 36" viking and a 36 x 2.5" inch downdraft. Can I add a downdraft to this induction cooktop and will it fit in the cutout?
