Hello - This ranges uses the convection cooking technology. You can use ceramic and glass bakeware in the oven. For more information about the cookware that can be used with this unit, please review pg. 18 of the owner's manual. We hope this information helps. Have a great day! -Don@GEAppliances
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The oven is a standard, convection arrangement (albeit with “flash” options … which basically mean 500F broil plus fans on high). A very nice one but it doesn’t employ magnetic resonance (a la the induction cooktop). When you actually, reason about it it (the oven) could not work as you’re thinking it might (nor could any induction system). Induction cooktops only work when the “pan” is VERY, VERY close to the magnetic arrangement. Yes. The oven (portion) will support all cookware just like any convection oven. The cooktop requires magnetic (ferrous) pans. I use stainless steel pans (All Clad) but they have a ferrous layer integrated inside the pan. This is more common than one might think. Just look for “induction ready” pans. Aluminum pans (w/o a ferrous layer) will not work. If you try to use it with a non-induction pan it just won’t work (the cooktop will issue a light “please put the pan back down” noise when you lift the pan off of the surface … or use a non-compatible pan).
