When you turn the oven on an OVEN EXHAUST fan (you can see it as a “lip” at the rear in the pictures) will turn on (and off) all by itself. There is no explicit control. It fully manages itself. It is almost imperceptible from a noise perspective. That aside, there is no “hood” fan (if you will). You will need an over-range microwave or dedicated hood for that. If you purchase a suitable GE microwave (as I have), the two units will employ Bluetooth to talk to each other (you have to pair them but it’s not hard to do so). This enables the cooktop to automatically turn the overhead fan and light on, when you turn a “burner” on (for example). I’ve never waited long enough to see if it will also turn the overhead fan/light off. It may do so, but I’ve never waited long enough (I just press the buttons on the microwave as I leave the kitchen). The oven exhaust, as mentioned, is 100% self managing (and only turns on when the oven is on … or is still warm from a previous use).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there, Thanks so much for reaching out. We're happy to answer your question! Many ranges and wall ovens use fans to cool down the internal components. Some models use fans to help cool an oven or range after self-cleaning. The fan or blower could come on during any operation. The cooling fan for the electronic controls is controlled by a thermostat. The cooling fan may run throughout the entire bake cycle and continue even when the oven is off. This is considered normal operation. Let us know if you have any other questions. Mike@GEA
