I have a GE Profile electric dryer and I hate it. I noticed if I use the timed setting that very frequently it will say vent blocked. The dryer is 7 months old. Even after all the ducts and dryer is cleaned of any lint, it will still do it off & on. You can clear the vent blocked by running on the “normal” cycle with ecodry. It clears in 3-4 mins. I wonder if GE has this programmed because they want you to use ecodry setting which is horrible. I’m assuming Ming that setting uses less electricity. I use timed dry and that’s when vent blocked happens. Anyway you look at it, this is the worst dryer I have ever had. It takes forever to dry things completely compared to any other dryer I’ve had. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Clean the outdoor vent
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine says vent blocked every 6th load when using timed dry and not the eco settings. I think it’s programmed to do that. You can clear it by cleaning the lint filter and I stick the skinny vacuum attachment into the opening..,,,,then run it on the “normal” cycle without changing anything and it will clear itself in 3 mins..,,,every time! Of course I can only say this for the GE profile dryer which I recommend to NEVER buy!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. Thoroughly clean the vent pipe connected to the back of your dryer. It's best to run the shortest length of duct work possible to lessen the potential for an obstruction or blockage. You also want to check the vent cap on the outside of your home. We then recommend you run a cycle like "Normal" and see if the light goes out. If it doesn't, try disconnecting the power to the dryer for 2-3 minutes to reset the electronics. If the issue persists once power is restored, we recommend calling 1-800-432-2737 to schedule a service appointment to have your dryer properly diagnosed and repaired. We do hope this is helpful. Kind regards - Vikki@GEAppliances
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hate both my GE profile "smart" washer and dryer. All the same problems. Wish I'd bought a basic set that actually works!
