Q: QuestionI bought this Microwave approx. 2 years ago, been working fine until just now. The push button that allows the door to open just broke and you cannot open the door. It just presses in without catching on anything. Can this door button be replaced?

Q: QuestionI need to replace a built in microwave GE JEM31BF01. I can't find the dimensions in the manual and need to make sure a new one will fit in the existing space. It is built into an open space (not over a range). Suggestion?

Q: QuestionI need to replace the earlier model that was 11 3/16" high. The slot I need to put a new microwave is 24.5" wide, 12" high and 14" deep. I don't think your replacement model is going to fit as it is 12.1" high. Suggestions?

Q: QuestionIs PEM31SFSS model a placement of GE JEM33M? Does mounting kit WX4-A19K fit this model?

• A:Answer Yes, the PEM31SFSS is the replacement, but it is slightly taller than the old GE spacemaker. This makes the trim kit no longer valid, you have to trim the kit smaller if you are ok with some wood working. The mounting kit is supposed to be WX4-A019, which in reality is almost the same as the old mounting kit. However, the new PEM31SFSS hole pattern is different on the right side (mounted farther in and close to the center).

To ensure safe and reliable operation, we do recommend using the current optional accessory kit - JX827SFSS - for either of these models. The PEM31SFSS has been replaced by the PCHK11S1WSS but may still be available in limited quantities in your area. While the new models are fractionally larger than your existing microwave, the space needed for their installation with the kit has not changed. -Vikki@GEAppliances

• A:Answer Our lovely PEM31SFSS microwave can be installed in the same cutout that was needed for your Monogram ZEM200SF model. There are fractional differences in the height and width of the two microwaves which may require you to also purchase the new JX827SF built-in kit. Your ZEM200 microwave measures 11 3/16"H x 23 25/32"W. The new PEM31SF model measures 11 3/4"H x 24"W. We'd recommend installing the new microwave using your existing kit and if you have any installation issues then purchase the new JX827SFS kit to complete the installation. -Vikki@GEAppliances

• A:Answer Mine was put in a wall cabinet not above the stove. When they put it above a stove and you fry, the vent is not very effective under a microwave. Your ceiling and walls will get all greasy. My experience anyway. Good luck.

• A:Answer Yes, all as-is appliances carry a functional warranty only. Warranties supplied on products sold "AS IS" carry the same functional warranties as do products sold brand new. Any missing part or accessory from an appliance sold "AS IS" is responsibility of the consumer. A bill of sale, cancelled check or other payment record should be kept to verify the original purchase date and to establish the warranty period. Warranty period begins with date of purchase.
