A:AnswerWe are happy to suggest a replacement for this unit. The model PEM31SFSS has the same features as your current one plus more! If we can answer any additional questions feel free to reach back out and let us know.
A:AnswerNot sure of your dimensions. You must measure well. But I just replaced my microwave and trim. The new microwave and new trim kit is smaller than the existing hole made for the older models that it replaces. But they do sell stainless steel filler strips on Amazon. Problem solved and looks great. It’s not completely easy. It takes some carpentry skills and ingenuity but I figured it out.
A:AnswerThank you for bringing this to our attention. This does not sound like normal operation. We recommend scheduling a service appointment with a GE Appliances technician. You can do this by calling 833-426-3393 Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET Saturday – Sunday. We are confident they will be able to help diagnose what is happening with your unit.
A:AnswerThank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. Our trim kits are made specifically for each model microwave and are not able to be used with different models. The correct trim kit for this model unit (PEM31SFSS) is 27" Deluxe-JX827SFSS or the 30" Deluxe-JX830SFSS.
A:AnswerMicrowaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. The PEM31DFBB is 12 1/8 H x 24 inches W x 12 7/8 D. We recommend making sure you have the space on the shelf for this size model. Provided below are the guidelines to ensure your Countertop Microwave has the correct air clearances. ~3" of clearance on both sides and the top. ~ 1" clearance in the rear.
~ The front edge of the Microwave (measured at the door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. ~ If located on the counter near a Range, we recommend locating it at least 2 feet away from the Range.
A:AnswerAll of our 30" over-the-range microwaves replace each other! We have models JNM3163DJWW and JVM3162DJWW that would be great replacement models. Please know that you'll have to use the hardware and brackets that come with your new unit, as these kits are model specific.
A:AnswerThanks for checking with us. These are the same model. When the model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance.
A:AnswerYes, our countertop microwaves require a 120 volt, individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse.
A:AnswerThese microwaves are the same, just a slightly newer version. The materials of the unit may have changed slightly. You will need to ensure that you use the hardware and brackets that come with your new unit.
A:AnswerNo. If you are replacing a current built-in, know that the mounting holes may be in different locations (see my image of mounting holes).
It seems GE used a specific screw size and thread pitch that isn't actually compatible with the generic mounting hardware available at Best Buy. (see the 1* review that discussed tightening screws only to find they could be jiggled out by hand)
A:AnswerThis is a built-in capable microwave, not one of our over-the-range models. You will need to purchase the trim kit separately, as this is optional.
A:AnswerWhen replacing a microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, exhaust adapter and new trim kit should also be used.
A:AnswerWe do have model PEM31DFWW that is very similar in terms of size to replace your current unit. You will need trim kit JX827DFWW for this model.
A:AnswerWe do have model PEB9159SJSS that can replace your microwave. Your space may need some minor modifications or a trim kit. We advise you to check the Specification Guide to view the full space requirements.
A:AnswerThis microwave has slightly different measurements. We do encourage you to view the space requirements in the specification guide which you can find by inputting the model number (PEM31DFBB) into our GE Appliances website. You will need trim kit JX830DFBB for installation as well. Thank you for checking with us and choosing GE Appliances once again!
