A:Answer Hi Bill - What you are hearing may be the control relays cycling the bake and broil elements on and off to accurately maintain oven temperature. This is normal when in use. Due to the precise control our ovens have, you may hear more relay noise than in older ovens. Also, cracking and popping sounds caused by the heating and cooling of metal during the cooking or cleaning functions are considered normal. It is simply the expansion and contraction of the metal. If the range continues to click when not in use, a qualitied service technician is required for diagnosis. At GE Appliances, our goal is to ensure your satisfaction, while offering the highest levels of professional service.
