  • QuestionMy parents are older have hard time bending over is the bottom oven hard to get to? If you open the door all the way is it on the floor?

    Asked by Brian.

    • Answer The bottom door is nearly on the floor when completely open and would present a challenge for someone with limited mobility. However, I have found that I use the upper oven almost exclusively, and it allows bend-free access (I'm 5'4", taller people might have a different experience). It's more roomy than you might expect; you won't be roasting a family-sized turkey in the space, but game hens are no problem. Additionally, the smaller oven preheats very quickly, and I think it's more energy efficient, too.

  • QuestionIs the oven window a smoked glass or clear?

    Asked by lgirl.

    • Answer Hi lgirl- The outer glass door is tinted. An ON/OFF switch operates the oven light. This allows you to turn on the oven light and look through the window at the food without having to open the door. • QuestionWhat material is the stovetop made of? Does it scratch easily? Will it hold up with years of use?

    Asked by EConcepcion.

    • Answer Hi EConcepcion - Thanks for considering GE Profile Model PB960SJSS! Our glass cooktops are made of a durable, scratch-resistant glass ceramic material. They are not scratch proof, so it is important to use the proper cookware and follow proper cleaning procedures. Porcelain coated cast iron cookware can be used on the glass cooktop as long as the cookware is covered completely with porcelain enamel. Caution is recommended when using cast iron cookware that is not completely covered with smooth porcelain enamel, as it may scratch the glass ceramic cooktop. • QuestionIs this energy star rated?

    Asked by Sugarplum.

    • Answer Hi Sugarplum - Electric Ranges, including model PB960SJSS, are not Energy Star Rated. However, Double Oven Electric Ranges save time and up to 25% energy use by preparing meals in the upper oven, which pre-heats faster and more efficiently than the lower oven. Also, there is no Energy Star label for residential ovens or microwave ovens at this time. For appliances with the Energy Star label, visit the Energy Star web site: Energy Star Appliances: https://www.energystar.gov/products/appliances - Also, visit GE ENERGY EFFICIENT PRODUCTS: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/energy-star-appliances/ - Check out matching GE Profile™ 2.1 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven PVM9005SJSS. 400CFM venting system removes smoke, steam and odors. Also, they both offer CHEF CONNECT- Three options with a single touch. • Questionwhat type of pans are suggested to use with theese glass tops

    Asked by woodbutcher.

    • Answer Hi woodbutcher - Thanks for considering GE Profile! Flat Bottom pans are essential for good cooking performance since the bottom of the pan needs to touch the glass for the best heat transfer. Stainless Steel is highly recommended. A sandwich clad bottom is especially good because it combines the durability and stability of stainless steel with the heat conduction and distribution of aluminum or copper. Heavy-Weight Aluminum cookware is also recommended. It conducts heat faster than other metals and cooks evenly. Aluminum residue sometimes appears as scratches on the cooktop, but these can be removed if cleaned immediately.
