QuestionI live in a apt without the regular laundry set up. can I add water in this machine with a hose connected to my sink? In another word, can I connect the water supply like a portable washer? Desperately need an answer.

- Answer If you go from under the sink and grab the right fittings from a hardware store, I don’t see why not. You could probably put a tee fitting on the hose under the sink and put a valve on it. Then you could connect/disconnect the garden or washer dryer hose to the appliance at your leisure.

QuestionOn our old standalone HE washing machine, we needed to keep the door open after use so it could dry out and prevent mold. After using this washer/dryer combo, does the door need to be propped open?

- Answer Hello- Thank you for your question and your interest in the new Ultrafast Combo unit! This amazing unit has an industry first UltraFresh System with Microban® Antimicrobial Technology to help prevent odors and ensure the Combo stays fresh and clean load after load. Eliminating having to worry about mold or bad odors. However, if you run a wash only cycle, we recommend leaving the door propped open to help dry out the interior. Of course, wiping down the gasket is recommended from time to time. If you run a wash and dry cycle, you won't have to leave the door open because the drying portion of the cycle will help to dry out the interior. QuestionDoes this self-clean the condenser with water, or do you have to manually clean the condenser from time to time?

- Answer Hey there, Thanks so much for asking your question. We'll be happy to answer. The Combo does not spray water on the condenser or evaporator. You can manually clean out the evaporator that is accessible through the lint filter opening while taking care to not damage or bend the fins of evaporator. No condenser cleaning is required. QuestionCan the wash perform well in a laundry room located outside in a garage that is not temp controlled?

- Answer Hello - For the best drying performance, it should be installed in an area that has an ambient temperature above 60 degrees F. In other words, items will dry faster if temperatures are not too cold. Unit should not be stored or operated in temperatures below 32 degrees F or above 110 degrees F. We recommend that you review pg. 22 and 23 of the owner's manual for the location requirements and clearances for the Combo. Please let us know if you have any questions in the future. QuestionHello --- are there any drawer pedestals that are COMPATIBLE with the unit? I fully understand that Best Buy doesn't sell one in a combo with the unit officially, but I am asking the manufacturer to answer whether any are compatible?

- Answer No, our UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer is only compatible with a 7" riser and should not be installed on a pedestal. Therefore, only the riser model number GFR0728 is approved for use with the Combo. Even though the riser shares the same installation instructions with the pedestal, we do not recommend any pedestal.

QuestionWhat is the true depth of this unit, i.e., the depth from one edge of the washer top to the other.The pictures look like the 32" depth is measuring the bulge of the door. How close can it be installed to the wall after connecting hoses?

- Answer Hi there - those are great questions! The case depth (rear to the inseam) without the curved front is 26". For example, if installing this with side cabinets, this would be the "body" that's in the cabinet. -- The minimum clearances are 0” for the rear, sides, top, and front. However, to enable 0” clearance on the back of the Combo, you must use 90° elbow hoses. Otherwise, you may require some additional clearance to avoid rubbing of the hoses against the back wall. Questiondoes this also heat the water so it could run with a connection to cold water only? that would be great and would be a next model that GE should develop. I would see some energy savings in only heating the water needed for the washing.

- Answer Hello- We appreciate your interest and suggestions! The Ultrafast Combo can be used with only the cold water hose connected. This model does not have a heater to heat incoming water; the incoming water temperature is dependent on the water in your home. So if you only have the unit connected to a cold water source, you will only be able to get a cold water wash. QuestionJust purchased this with the 7" riser for install on the 3rd floor. What would be the right washing machine pan dimensions needed for my install? Also, is it worth purchasing an anti-vibration pad? If yes, would it be added in the pan or under the pan?

- Answer Hey there. We’re thrilled you’ve purchased our Combo, and we’re confident it’s going to revolutionize your laundry experience! The Combo is compatible with washer floor tray PM7X2; the dimensions for that are: 29" x 33" interior (31" x 35" exterior) 1.64" deep. The tray may be available through your dealer, or you can contact our parts department about the tray at 1-877-959-8688. Regarding an anti-vibration pan, that shouldn’t be necessary. The unit features Dynamic Balancing Technology to provide an overall reduction in noise and vibration. As long as the unit is properly leveled, we wouldn’t expect any issue with excess vibration. We also have not tested the washer/dryer combo with an anti-vibration pad, and wouldn’t be able to suggest using one. We hope this information is helpful – enjoy your Combo! -Sarah@GEA

QuestionCan I have 2 of these hooked up to the same drain line in my utility room or does each one need its own supply and drain plumbing? I know each machine will have it's own lines, but can they share the same hookups in my home?

- Answer Good day, Thanks so much for your question! Two Combos can be hooked up next to each other and run simultaneously and independent of each other. They need to each have dedicated 120V outlets. The drain hoses can share the same standpipe as long as its ID is greater than 1.5”. The water hookups can be shared used two adapters as follows: With a short hose and a y adapter the HOT line can accommodate both hoses for HOT water to each unit; and, with a separate short hose and y adapter the COLD line can accommodate two hoses for COLD water to each unit. - Answer Hi - We are so appreciative of your interest in our fabulous Profile UltraFast Combo. We offer the PM14X10008 - 4 ft. Universal Stainless Steel Washer Hoses with 90 degree elbow. - Answer This all depends on the size of load, the option you select and if the filter is cleared or not. For me - king size sheets / pillow cases = 2 hours under bulk option. King size comforter = 2 hours under bulk option. Quick loads are like 1 hour 15 minutes under quick cycle option. Normal size loads are 1 hour 30 mins under normal size option.

QuestionHow is vinegar not compatible with the drying system materials? I don’t understand how white distilled vinegar (a liquid) is unable to be used in place of fabric softener.

- Answer Hello - Vinegar or vinegar-based cleansers should not be used in the Combo. Vinegar is acid based and can be caustic to certain materials used in the Combo unit. We do not recommend using vinegar in this unit. Kind regards. - Vikki@GEA

QuestionHad load w/ 3hr eta but at 2hr clothes were done. Can I lessen the dry time during a running cycle? Does it affect the machine if it doesn't run thru full est cycle i.e not completely expelling the water from pump? Is bad to turnoff w/time still expected

The time our Combo needs to complete the cycle and dry your clothes can vary, depending on the specific load, the options/cycles you select, etc. As long as your clothes are dry, there should be no issue with ending the cycle earlier than expected. - Answer Hi - Our incredible UltraFast Combo sound level while washing is comparable to any of our other frontload washers. It is important that the Combo is properly installed and leveled, and the shipping bolts are removed to ensure proper operation. While drying the unit is quieter than standard dryers since the drum is insulated and there is no external venting. We have not been made aware of any issues with a rattle sound when installed on the riser. We are confident you will love our UltraFast Combo as much as we do. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

- Answer Hello. Our Combo can indeed use laundry pods rather than liquid detergent, if you prefer! Just make sure you add the pods to the basket itself before clothes are added, rather than putting them in the SmartDispense. - Answer Hi - Thank you for your patience as we checked into this for you. Detergent pods can be used with our All-In-One combo. The pods can't be used in the dispenser compartments and are instead placed directly into the basket before the clothes are added.
