Hello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. To obtain the average water usage of our washers, it is necessary to look at the water factor (WF or iWF). The iWF is a calculation defined by the Department of Energy (DOE) and all manufacturers are required to publish this information. For Average Water Usage, calculate: Water Factor x Capacity = Average Water Usage. For this model, it would be 7.0 x 3.2 = 22.4 gallons. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The math that was conducted by GE on the amount of gallons for this particular washer ( and the equation ) are incorrect. This unit takes half that amount. A full size washer on "extra large load" takes 25 gallons on average.
