When you first plug in your Galaxy smartphone to the Gear VR, your smartphone will then be prompted to install the Oculus store and Gear VR apps. After those apps are installed then you can buy and play games bought from the Oculus Store and play them in true VR. Games bought from the Google Play Store will not work though.
