Hi TonyinFL, Yes it will support the higher memory speed. If you still have the 4800mhz stick it will bring down the speed of the other stick to match the speed of the lowest speed memory in the PC. So for the best results you will need to fill in both slots with upgraded memory if you wish to do so. Hope this helps! - John
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you still have the 1 stick of 8gb 4800MHz installed anything faster than that you install will be limited to that speed. If you take it out though, the max speed it will support is 5200MHz. I put 2 sticks of 16gb 5200MHz crucial RAM on it and it works perfectly, shown in the picture. Just make sure you buy SO-DIMM RAM and have a T6 Torx Tool to open up the back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.recently upgraded the ram in this myself: if you get higher speed RAM you will have to mess around with the BIOS settings, among other things. by default any new ram thats faster will be limited to the speed of the preinstalled ram, so 4800 MHz. this goes for all computers. i didnt want to mess around with those settings so i just stuck with 4800 MHz RAM as its plenty fast for gaming.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes you can upgrade ,and yes it will run at that supported speed
