Overclocking a GPU can cut down its lifespan some, but that's purely determined by just how much you overclock it by and how often you play on it, and how long. You don't have to overclock your GPU if you have one that allows for it to be overclocked. It'll give off much of the same performance, if not better when compared to a Founders Edition card, which usually does not have room for overclocking. Typically it is built for better cooling capabilities which is designed to counteract the temperature increase that is bound to come from overclocking.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi King9, The overclocked models are pre overclocked from the factory to safe settings and temperatures. You are still able to overclock further if you wanted, within the limit of your cooling, and power delivery. Hope this helps! - John
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it does not shorten the life of the card. The enemy of electronics is heat. So use a more aggressive fan speed to keep card under 70c and it will be fine. It also comes with a good warranty.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usually the factory overclock on most cards is extremely minimal. It does not cause a shorter life span.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why would they make it an option to buy either if it wasn’t a great investment ?
