it went live around 3pm EST on the 16th EST, most of the other cards went on sale at 9am EST

I received an email to sign up for the "Verified Priority Access" program to have a chance to buy the card. About 24 hours after signing up I received an email saying I was selected to be able to buy a card directly from Best Buy by using a link sent to my Nvidia Geforce app on my PC. The link took me a Best Buy webpage where most RTX 4080 models were in stock (Unfortunately no 4090s) and I was able to secure this card.
