I asked myself that a lot... and I recently bought one. Cable is just different than casting or streaming... Netflix lets you try a month for free... hulu a week.. with this device you pick up your phone, set up what you want to watch and in your living room, at your own schedule, just watch it... pause it between breaks. I prefer casting/streaming my movies and tv shows because I choose the time I want to watch them... not stick to a tv channel schedule. Once I bought the chromecast, youtube on tv, crackle and other apps... even youtube music are a lot of fun to watch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use your mobile device and the TV you already own to cast your favorite TV shows, movies, music, sports, games and more. Chromecast works with iPhone®, iPad®, Android phone and tablet, Mac® and Windows® laptop, and Chromebook. It does not contain all cable channels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Google chrome cast is a small recieced that plugs into your tv or sound systems hdmi port. It streams things sent to it via your devices i.e. Phone iPad. It uses your wifi to send the signal. Remote functions such as pause and volume are controlled by your device unless it is plugged into the sound system then you can use that for volume. I use it for Netflix,Viki, Hulu, YouTube, and Pandora. Also just videos and music on my devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The chromecast is not a replacement for cable. It is simple a device that connects to your home wifi and when your device (phone/laptop) is on the same wifi can stream content from either browser (google chrome), or netflix, or hbo go, or any other app that supports chromecast. You will not get the cable channels on chromecast. Some apps like Sky news, and CNN can be seen live on youtube and you can see that on chromecast as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One cannot compare Chromecast with Cable. Chromecast allows you to shoot (cast) anything that you can see on your PC screen using the CHROME BROWSER to your TV set, as long as you have an HDMI input on your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It projects the content you have pulled up on the googlechrome browser to your TV. No, it's not better than cable because it doesn't actually stream anything itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Chrome cast only sends your phone or PC screen to your TV it does not give you access to extra content. That being said it is an easy way to stream Netflix from your phone or PC to your TV. I recommend it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Chromecast Video is a device you plug into a spare HDMI port on your television, and it allows you to view what is on an Android smartphone on your TV. So the device, in and of itself, would not be a replacement for cable TV, but streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, which can all be viewed through the Chromecast Video device, are alternative options to cable TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is only for streaming things from your phone, laptop, or tablet. It does not itself have any software or built in television or movie capability. So it isn't better or worse than cable; it is something else entirely. They're completely different things.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need Internet and can send Netflix You Tube where there are thousands of movies or anything you could ask for
