“Does the Chromecast 3 have Bluetooth audio? For instance, if I want to watch a program and not disturb my wife, can I connect my Bluetooth headphones to the Chromecast 3 like I can with Fire/Apple/etc?”

I posted the original question and went ahead and purchased one since the answers were all across the board...1 yes, 1 no, and 2 nonsense answers. The answer is NO it does NOT have Bluetooth audio. It does use Bluetooth for the setup process but that is the only time it is used. This may change with firmware updates in the future but as of now you should avoid this product if you are looking for a media player with Bluetooth audio.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Buy a bluetooth audio transmitting device. Plug it into your TV. Pair your bluetooth earphones/speaker to the purchased bluetooth audio transmitting device. And, you will be good to go. Any audio that comes from your TV will be redirected to the transmitter and then to your bluetooth earphones/speakers. TV + Transmitter + Earphones = Sound This takes the Chromecast device out of the equation. Be sure your TV and the Bluetooth Audio Transmitter are able to connect together. Lol. You have to be able to plug the transmitter into your TV using cords that plug into your TVs audio output jacks/earphone jack or other audio outputs located on the back of your TV. This will allow you to get sound from your TV via bluetooth. The low end price range is around $15 - $30. They should be easy to find on Amazon. Good luck, N2

I tried this once with my sleeping wife in the room, and there was a VERY embarrassing conversation once my "program" blasted full volume from my TV speakers! However, I've learned through some real hard trial and error that it is possible to cast from Android and connect your earbuds to the phone! Hope that helps!
