• No. Nest Cam (Battery) has an ecosystem of accessories that will allow you to put it on a table top surface, plug it in outdoors, power it with Power over Ethernet (PoE), or hook it to a solar panel. Though it can run on battery power alone, you can keep your camera plugged-in, even outdoors, using the weatherproof cables (sold separately). Nest cameras and doorbells do not support direct connection to a transformer, and won’t work with wires directly connected to an electrical circuit.

• Yes but I believe you need to make sure you purchase the cameras for that reason and not the battery only cameras. Check with someone in the store where you plan to purchase - like Best Buy. They are usually very helpful and knowledgable. Hope this helps.
