Q: QuestionIt appears that the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor Security Camera can be mounted under an eave or a patio ceiling. Is this correct?

• A:Answer Yes! We mounted 1 on an eave with the power source behind the mount plate and the 2nd one we mounted to brick and ran the wire up and away from anyone potentially cutting the power source. It is high enough that they would need a really tall ladder.

• A:Answer I have an old Cradlepoint router and it still works well. I hard wired (Cat5) my in-home router to the cradlepoint and receive excellent signal thru walls from my Cradlepoint. Am not sure how well the Cradlepoint would work if it relied on a WiFi connection to your home router.

• A:Answer I have a NetGear AC1200 DualBand MU-MIMO. My camera is on the outside of the garage and the extender is inside the garage at the front of the garage (opposite end from the camera). That works well. My Comcast router doesn't do well at distances because I need an extender for my Nest doorbell (and needed one for the Ring when I tried it). But the signal is strong to the extender - 60 feet maybe - and then to the camera. Can you plug your extender into an outlet near the camera and still get a strong signal at the extender? Which camera are you using? I have the Next IQ Outdoor Camera.
