I have the notifications silenced, so they appear on my phone, but I don't have to hear them go off all the time. The only ones you need to have on are when someone rings the doorbell. I also live in a condo and on the main entrance, so I get a lot of activity.

You can choose to receive notifications for everything your camera detects, or choose notifications for only certain types of activity. Camera notifications are managed in the Google Home app or the Nest app. Here's how: -Open the Google Home app. -Tap Favorites or Devices. -Tap and hold your device's tile > More > Settings. -Select Notifications. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Google Nest Help page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

You can turn off animals, vehicles, and motion. I live in a townhouse complex and the doorbell faces a highly trafficked sidewalk, so I needed to turn off motion. I leave packages on and get some false positives when my neighbors go by carrying things but it's better than anything walking by or the bushes next to the door moving.
