Yep the thermostat will function on its own without a connection...you just won't be able to access the remote features
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will not lose control of any hearing or a/c, but you will not be able to control or monitor from a wifi device. I often lose wifi connection and still has no effect on operation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will because there are still wires that go to the account and furnace from the thermostat. And the most I use the wifi on the nest is to check the weather, and change the temperature from the NEST app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HI, Your thermostat should still work as it is hardwired into the heating and cooling unit. the wifi is only used for the app functions (recognizing when you arrive/leave etc). The normal thermostat functions are not dependent on Wifi (at least this is how my Nest Thermostat works)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it needs to maintain ISP connection to function properly, but rather your local wifi network (to detect if you're home or not). When you say your wifi is down I'm assuming you mean your wifi is still emitting a signal, but there is no internet connection. Based on the network traffic I've seen on mine I'm guessing that the device calls out to the nest servers for updates and weather info, but most of the activity happens within your LAN and not the WAN.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You would only lose wifi access to it. It will still work just like the old thermostat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm 99.99% sure the answer is you'll be fine. The wiring is direct, you just won't have internet connectivity. You won't freeze (or burn up) though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should do. You just won't be able to control it from your mobile devices. It should still work as a regular thermostat (based on my experience with earlier models)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can still walk up to the Nest and control it manually, yes. You click the screen to get to any of the available menus (if you want to switch from heat to cool, etc) and turn the silver ring (it's a dial) to adjust temperature or navigate menus. The only thing you lose if WiFi goes down is the ability to control the Nest from your phone out of your house or for it to track if you are home or if you've left.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
