No it doesn't work with Alexa or play as speaker
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Alexa can help, too Nest products are also built to work with Amazon Alexa. Not only can you control things like your nest Thermostat or Nest Protect through the Alexa app on your phone or an Amazon Echo device, but Alexa skills and the IFTTT service can also work with your Nest protect to trigger actions in other Alexa-aware products. Use this applet to have IFTTT call any phone number if the nest Protect senses high levels of CO or a fire. This is the same applet programmed to make a VOIP call. Use this applet to have IFTTT send you an email when your Nest Protect battery is low. This applet ties your Nest Protect to your Philips Hue lights so they can blink during an emergency or turn on and light the way out of the house. You'll find plenty more Nest applets and Alexa skills for Nest that can work with Alexa-aware products you might have. It's also simple to build your own if you can't find what you're looking for with Amazon's Skill Builder or the IFTTT Applet creator.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to Nest’s website, Alexa is only supported on the Nest cameras, video doorbell and thermostats. The Nest Protect does not play music. The Nest Protect will work with the Nest thermostats to help with motion detection if anyone is in the home for the Nest Away feature only. Other than that, it’s a smoke/carbon monoxide detector that can link up with other wires and wireless Nest Protects in the home to provide an alarm and voice that sounds at the same time on all devices telling you what the issue is and where the issue is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nest Protect is a smoke detector, so it won’t play music. All of my products are connected thru Google Home, but believe Alexa will let you see your Nest Protect, but not sure what access you’ll have thru the app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No music, but rather it'll talk before alarm actually sounds to allow you to disable it manually via the app. Another nice thing with Nest Protect is that the Nest Thermostat will turn off if carbon monoxide is detected! Also all units are linked and will tell you where the issue is in your house, including battery low indicator instead of the annoying beep you've got to find. Alexa enabled smoke detector speaker doesn't sound that good, BTW.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not think it can play music. Might only be the OneLink with that ability so far
