• Yes it has a Sim slot, but I'm not sure what the second part of your question is asking. The Sim has nothing to do with the updates you receive.

• I purchases the unlocked version and used my SIM from T-Mobile, it works perfectly fine. Updates will come from Google.

• Pixel 4 Unlocked use SIM Card of whatever cellphone provider you choose. Pixel 4 is a Google phone so any future OS updates this phone gets first before any android phones.
