QuestionI don't quite understand... option starting at $299.99 with open box.. the box is open due to activation process ? means someone opened the box to insert a sim card of preferred carrier, or it was open due to other circumstances?

- Answer Open box means it was a return. I bought an open box 4a and all I got was the phone which looked 100% just like new and they threw in a new Samsung charger and cable.

- Answer Buy the unlocked version of the phone. It will work with any carrier. Just put your Verizon sim in it and It will work while you are still in the US. When you get to NZ just swap the SIM for a local carrier.

- Answer I do not believe it can be water resistant with openings for the USB-C and headphone ports always exposed to the elements. Google does not list the phone as water resistant which indicates to me that it is not.
