“Can the pixel buds Translator function only be used with the google phone ?”

• According to Google, translation will only work "with the assistance of the Google Translate app on your Google Pixel or Pixel 2 phone". I take this to mean that it will not work with Nexus phones.

• You need a pixel or pixel 2 phone for it to work. This is probably temporary and the feature will roll out to all devices eventually.

• No. The translation feature still relies on the Google translate app. The buds are just set up for it, making it easier to do on a Google phone.
