I waited 2 hours before trying again and it worked for me (try after 1 hour if you’re feeling risky). I did switch from cell phone to laptop but I’m not sure if that played any role. You can also try calling customer service and getting transferred to the e-gift card team to see if they can help - they were closed when I tried.

Support was not very helpful and they just said wait it out and try again. I deleted all cookies and cache and then I went in to type the email and it worked with no problem! Hope that helps anyone else with this issue.
