if your modem is pushing out weak signal the google won't improve that. you have to make sure you getting strong speed directly from your modem. run a download speed directly from your router with a ethernet cable then go from there

Is the modem considered Docsis 3.0 compliant? Generally a newer device or an older device that you paid a substantial amount for. (I got my Docsis model 8 years ago, but paid close to $120 for it) #2 Is there just one (1) splitter that divides the cable signal between the different devices in the home? Every split from this point MUST be connected to a device or a signal termination cap needs to be put on the outlet. Think of it as a water pipe, if you don't have a faucet or a cap on the end of every pipe, water will run out affecting the service for the entire house. Cable signal works the same, every split needs a device or a cap to prevent loss of signal. Caps are cheap unfortunately it seems best buy doesn't stock them. (no shock there, they want you to spend big $$) If you search a big box home store depot and search for "F-Connector Terminator Caps" It will show you something that looks like a cap for the CATV outlet with a small wire in the center. That small wire plugs the signal from leaking. #3 What version of airport extreme? Is it wireless G, or wireless N? Also are you using only wireless connections or are you using ethernet connections. From memory the airport extreme was limited with bandwidth on a wireless connection (so a larger number of devices would cause bottlenecks) It also isn't supported by apple so I would look for a replacement. This device is ok, but has some issues with consistency. You may look at getting a traditional wireless router with ethernet as well. Using ethernet for devices that need more bandwidth (like a smart tv trying to play 4k video) is better connected wired and will free up wireless bandwidth for other devices. Simply put, there isn't a simple answer to your problem, but hope this gives you some help to track down the issue.
