According to Best Buy's own comparison chart, and GoPro's website, MiltonMan12 is incorrect. His differences are true for the Hero 5 and Hero Session, but not for the Hero 5 Session, which is what the question was about. Supposedly, according to Best Buy and GoPro, the Hero 5 and Hero 5 Session both have image stabilization and the video quality is the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The session is smaller (small cube-like camera) and doesn't have a screen. You need to download the App in your phone if you want to view what the camera sees. Hero5 is the opposite.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The biggest differences are the size and no removable battery on the session. Granted they both have a type-c connection which helps with charging the device faster. The problem is if you session dies you have a small paper weight while the hero can easily swap batteries and keep filming.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are a few extra features the Hero5 Black has that the Session doesn't. Also, the Black has an LCD screen and a replaceable battery.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Biggest difference is the form factor. The hero offers a touchscreen and a little better quality but that is pretty much it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Back in the day the Hero 5 Session was known as an IMO. They were far more disposable ran at high frame rates and used for high speed car pole jumps and the like. If something went wrong a camera like the Hero 5 would be too expensive to put at risk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Session has no screen and is cube shape vs hero 5 black which has a touch screen and is square shaped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Lots! but a few of my favorites: - Electronic Image Stabilization (makes a world-of difference, especially if you are hand-holding this cam while filming) - Much better image quality (due to a better sensor and a higher bit-rate) - Voice Control (a feature to turn on if your gopro is ever mounted in a hard-to-reach place or if you want to have multiple GoPro control without a remote-control) - More FOV / Resolution / FPS options
