Yes it can be controlled remotely through the app. Setup is easy however I’ve had issue with long use and app losing connection. Remote controls include recording on/off zooming and adjusting audio

There are a couple of ways you can control the HERO7 Silver remotely. One option is to use the Voice Commands feature to simply tell the GoPro what you want it to do (ex. "GoPro take a photo"). Another option would be to pair your GoPro up with the free GoPro app on your smartphone and control the camera using the app.
