• Yes you can, just be aware the battery door must remain open to plug in so you'll sacrifice its waterproof capabilities. That being said it should be able to record as long as there is space on the SD card.

• The MAX will record while using external power. Assuming it is getting power, the only limitation in recording time would the size of the SD card.
