Q: QuestionI want to mount a 360 VR Go pro Max in an eagles nest to stream live 24/7. We have box with power, PC and internet few feet from nest. Can camera run continuously with batty removed but cam plugged into wall? also is SD card needed if streaming out? thx

• A:Answer Yes, the MAX can stream continuously without a battery as long as it has external power - subject to any limitations your streaming platform may have on the duration of streams they support. An SD card is not needed for streams.

• A:Answer The MAX does not have a looping feature. That features is found in many of the GoPro HERO models. The MAX can be powered externally, but note that if you are recording in a 360 mode with the MAX, you will likely be able to see that power source and cable in the shot.

• A:Answer You can but they put the power behind the door so you have to leave it open which makes it susceptible to water penetration. You will also need constant power versus battery. It drains even my 12.5 amp hr lithium in a matter of hours.

• A:Answer No but your smartphone can. Only reason for a GoPro is short shots of action. Anything longer than a dew minutes will drain the batteries and fill your card.l especially in 360 more.

• A:Answer The 360 footage isn’t shareable without editing. You would probably end up using the 360 in hero mode so you might as well save some money and buy a quality streaming camera versus using beta software to make the GoPro do aometjing it wasn’t designed for.

• A:Answer You would lose the 360 footage once you combine them. Anytime you want to use the footage you need to make the 360 footage one dimensional. Might as well stick with just the hero or your smartphone. I have tried to love the MAX but the software just isn’t ready.

• A:Answer The GoPro MAX is compatible with Android devices running Android 8.0, that support OpenGL ES 3.1 or higher. While specific device implementations vary from one manufacturer to another, recommended device chipsets include the Kirin 980 and newer, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and newer, and the Exynos 9810 and newer. Please keep in mind that, particularly on Android, other factors present on the device can affect performance, even when recommended hardware requirements are met.

• A:Answer The GoPro app is free to download and to use. There is a separate subscription service called GoPro PLUS that you might choose to use for its cloud storage of your GoPro content and other features, but that service is not required to use the MAX with or without the GoPro app.

• A:Answer There are some SD cards that up to 256GB that we recommend for the MAX. The list of recommended cards is at https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations. Recording time varies on the bitrate, frame rate and the resolution you choose, along with whether you're shooting in HERO mode (just using one lens) or in 360 mode.
