• You would need to buy the floating device in order to make it float, gopro sells one that u attach to the water proof case

• No, but you can add floatation to it yourself by strapping on a sufficient amount of "sunglass keepers." Clearly the "floaty" type and not merely a strap, though I also strap my GoPro's to my kayak as well. If you are scuba diving, use a floating wrist strap. Test your assembly in the kitchen sink full of water to make sure Archimedes is happy.
