No. it’s an array of led lights on a thin sheet of tape, that sticks to the back of the tv. led lights generate very little heat if any at all, compared to traditional lighting. therefore, having these lights with your tv, would not cause any damage. i have them and i love them. makes everything you watch more immersive and enjoyable!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It shouldn’t. App is on the phone. That’s how you turn it on/off. You can also program it to automatically turn on/off at certain times. I have it lights set up on my 65” Sony X90CH LED tv. No issues on my end. Lights are great!
