NO you cannot install 2 programs on the same computer. The new program will replace the other one If you have a second computer, you can install the 2nd program. I did this because it was less expensive to purchase a 2nd program for the other state, than it was to purchase an additional state on the original program.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can not, but you can do them on separate computers and you will be able to have 5 free efiles on each. I do this every year since I'm doing lots of family returns.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You probably can't do a second install unless you can partition your hard drive. Still you are pretty much stuck with each program running whatever State program you downloaded for free. To get a program to run a dual state return your are have to buy a second state from H&R. FYI: You can download your original software onto a second computer (or multiple computers) and download the same State program or a different State program to second computer (you don't have to buy anything else to run a different computers with a different stage programs). If you are real careful you might be able to do one state tax return on Computer A; then modify the worksheet entries on Computer B's state program and force it to think it is seeing data from Computer A's State program. WARNING: Before you start doing Computer A's State program you will have to "freeze" the Federal data so you can transfer the file to Computer B to start doing the second state's return. If you don't then Computer B will load up the return and want to find the State program that is on Computer A and ignore Compute B's State program. If you make any changes to the Federal on Computer A then you will have to start all over ... Always protect a copy of the Federal file so you can go back to make changes ... save that copy then move on to starting Computer A's state program ... then take the revised Federal (without State A as mentioned above - don't forget to save a clean backup) to Computer B and work on the State B return. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MIND GAME.... so probably best to save the hassle and buy the overpriced second state program from H&R.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I Have the same question. I do returns for my kids...and one lives in California and one lives in Mass...so i need two different state rreturns...so I bought two software packages...it was cheaper than paying for an additional state. So will my computer let me download a second software package.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure if you can install two copies of H&R Block tax software for the same year on one computer. That's a question for their technical support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can only download the program once but you can use that program to prepare multiple tax returns by making sure you name them differently when you save each tax return. Not sure why one would go through so much trouble but if you have a high level of computer programming skill you may be able to install the H&R software twice on the same computer by changing some of the program files to change execution commands that may allow you to segregate the two installations. You may also want to read the software license agreement IF H&R Block permits such alterations.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think you can really do this, but I'm not sure why you would need to. As best I can tell you can do an unlimited number of tax returns and you also get 5 free e-files with any (I believe) of the various versions of H&R. Each return has it's own file name ending with suffix Txx where xx=20xx, (i.e. tax return for Bob for 2020 would be Bob.T20), After the 5 free e-files it is either $10 or $20 per a return to e-file through H&R (your only choice) or you can print them out and mail them in. H&R includes software to route your printed return to a PDF, but Windows 10 (Pro for sure) includes this facility too.
