A:Answer Hi, good question! We're sorry to hear you've been having trouble with the unit in your RV. We appreciate your interest in this Side-by-Side Refrigerator and we'd love to help. We suggest checking with the inverter manufacturer on whether that device will run an appliance. In general, appliances can be used on an auxiliary power generator such as a gas, diesel or propane powered generator. We do not specifically test our appliances for use on generators such as gas or inverter powered generators.
However, there are special refrigerators from our GE line that can be used in an RV. Models GPV10FGNBB and GPV10FSNSB. These 12V DC refrigerators are designed for use in RVs, boats, and solar homes. They do not come with a cord, and cannot be connected to an AC outlet or the AC outlet in an inverter. Let us know if you have any questions. Take care!
