“does it turn off automatically after it is done cooking... I work long hours and would hate to come home to a fire”

• Yes, it turns off automatically.. However it keeps food warm so it is ready to serve when you get home... Food does not burn. I was concerned about leaving it on but No Problem - Works great !! Love it !!

• It stops cooking and turns to warming. We set it before we leave for work and don't get home from our kids sports until 8, crock pot isn't overly hot and the food isn't over cooked.

• Goes to warm mode. I really wouldn't worry about a fire. These cookers are designed to cook without supervision.

• The slow cooker will automatically go to a "Keep Warm" setting once the requested cooking time has expired. This way the food will still be warm at least once you get home from your long day.

• Once done cooking the amount of time you set, it will switch to Keep Warm. This will perform the same when using the cooking probe as well.

• It automatically goes to warm, not low so it just keeps it at an eatable temperature.
