Roku is a hardware product for streaming internet content to a visual display device (like a tv). Roku came to market before the equivalent electronics were commonly embedded into TV systems. Now "Smart" TV's dominate the market, so Roku has begun to partner with TV makers to embed the Roku system directly into the TV. I've used many streaming systems and do find Roku to excellent. The Roku implementation in this particular TV is fantastic and the overall package works great. I strongly recommend.

"Smart" on steroids. ROKU Provides as many as 1700 apps, or channels. Some pay, some not. If you have a cable subscription with premium channels, you can connect to those channels on ROKU. The on-demand movies and shows through the ROKU apps almost always have a greater selection than the on demand through your cable provider. YouTube, VUDU, Amazon Videos, Hulu, Fox, CNN, ABC, CBS, Weather Channel and the list goes on.

Roku is one of many companies that steams(shows) shows on a TV using the internet to get it to you. You must have a Roku account to do this. This is free with your HIsense smart TV. However, not all steamed channels are free. For example ;Netflix changed a monthly fee and well as many others
