The first time I saw a 4k movie it was considerably clearer than even a 1080i or p one. More pixels, brighter and no motion blur even on the fastest movements. Just keep in mind that a 4k tv uses a lot more megabytes per second than a 1080p and if you don't have an unlimited internet plan or one with a lot of gigabytes included and you watch a lot of streaming tv it doesn't take long to use up your gigs. One website says that 1080p uses 1.5mbs and 4k uses 7.5mbs. Approximately 4.5mbs more than 1080p. Does Dish TV have enough speed for a 4k? I don't think it does but I'm not sure. If not you may have to switch to regular internet service.

Yes the television would have a better picture quality than your 1080i television as 4K is more than 4 times the resolution of 1080.
