Not a whole lot. U8 is supposed to be brighter and deeper blacks. I have the u7k and its a great tv. If you want a bigger tv, get the u7k. Bigger is cheaper. If you want the very best quality of picture., get u8k. But u7k isn't a significant difference

Another difference is that the U8N has 1000 local dimming zones and the U7N has 500 local dimming zones.
