• It definitely does not shred well. I actually have to manually pull apart paper because it barely shred through if you put more than two pages.

• No it would not be as secure as a crosscut shredder. I ordered this one by mistake and just to lazy to take it back but I would never use it to shred anything that needed to remain secure. Not sure how long lasting it will be.
