The programmable thermostat relies on the schedules settings you should have initially set up. When you adjust the temp, it will “temporarily” obey your adjustment until the next scheduled time period. If you hit the “Hold” button first, it will allow your manual override of the set up scheduled temperatures you have input. However, I do recommend using the schedule so that you can save on heating costs, keeping it a couple degrees cooler while you sleep or a few degrees down while you’re at work!
